ALMOND
Thomas D., PE, age 79, of Oklahoma City, died November 2, 1991. Tom was born February 6, 1912 in Antlers, Oklahoma and, as an infant, moved to Broken Bow, Oklahoma, where he completed high school. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Mechanical Engineering Degree in 1937. Tom was a Professional Engineer and he completed his engineering career in 1975, as a District Manager with S.W. Bell Telephone Co. Tom as a member of the Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He was an active member, health permitting, health permitting, of Crown Heights Christian Church, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and the Military Order of Stars and Bars. As a husband, father and grandfather, Tom was greatly loved and will be missed. He was preceded in death by both parents, one sister and four brothers. Surviving are his wife, Augustine "Teen" Almond of the home; a son, Daniel K. Almond of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren Danette Kay Almond and Brigitte S. Murchison, both of Spokane, Wash; a brother, Joe Almond of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Fern Samuel of Whittier, Calif. and Mary Belle Kirksey of Kilgore, Texas; two great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 1991 in the Crown Heights Christian Church with Dr. Gene Whitley and Dr. J. Clyde Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery. Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, Rose Hill, 5006 N. Grand Blvd. 848-3744.
