HICKS PINNACLE - William Frank Hicks, Sr. July 27, 1931 - June 17, 2011 Our precious husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, William Frank Hicks, Sr., of Pinnacle, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the age of 79. Frank passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loved ones and supportive pastor John Hylton. He will be dearly missed by all who were privileged enough to know him. Frank retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco and was a member of Gospel Baptist Church in Pinnacle. Family was very important to Frank and he held them close to his heart. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. Frank loved to be outdoors and could often be found on the lawnmower or tractor, but his passion was fishing. He spent many hours at the carp pond with his sons and grandson awaiting the "big one". He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Inez Payne Hicks of the home; four sons, Frank Hicks Jr. of Dobson, Todd Hicks Sr. (Toni Hicks) of Shoals, Keith Hicks (Wayne Berrier) of Clemmons and Eric Hicks of Shoals; four grandchildren, Jason Hicks (Allison Hicks) of Dobson (and Jason's mother, Charlotte Woods), Todd Hicks Jr. (Jessica Haymore Hicks) of Shoals and Jessica Leigh Hicks and Faith (Tweetie) Hicks of Shoals; two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Julie Hicks of Dobson; one great-grandson, Brantley (Big Boy) Hicks of Shoals; two sisters, Mary Lineberry and Ethel Starbuck of Shoals. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Hicks and Fannie Corrina Sams Hicks; his sister, Ada Lineberry; and brothers, Harvey Hicks, Paul Hicks, John Henry Hicks and Alfred Hicks. The family will receive friends at a visitation service on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Gospel Baptist Church on Mill Street in Pinnacle. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., at Gospel Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Hylton officiating, with interment to follow at Brims Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
