Henry Hepp was in Company H, 57th OVI. He mustered in, in 1861 and out in 1864 on expiration of term of service.
Obituary---Seneca Advertiser---August 13, 1903: Henry Hepp died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lewis Huss, at New Riegel Saturday evening at 5:30 o'clock, aged sixty-six years. The deceased suffered a stroke of paralysis three weeks ago and again ten days ago, since which time he has remained unconscious. Mr. Hepp was a native of this country and served three years in the Civil War. Mrs. Joseph Motry, of this city, is the only sister of the deceased. Funeral Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Boniface church.∼son of MICHAEL HEPP-HOEPF and FRANCES BUSAM

HENRY HEPF (HOEPF-HEPP), farmer, P.0. New Riegel, was born, July 13, 1813, in Bavaria, Germany, where his parents, Michael and Frances Hopf, lived. Our subject immigrated to America and came to this county in 1830, where he has since lived. He has been engaged in farming nearly all his life and now owns 135 acres of fine land, where he and his family reside. He was married, July 15, 1839, to Elizabeth Copler, also a native of Germany, born February 27, 1817, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Copler, who immigrated to America and to Seneca County and here remained until death.

Henry and Mrs. Hepf had twelve children, eleven of whom are now living: Henry, Peter, Magdalena, Joseph, Christens, Margaret, Catharine, Jacob, Frank, Helena and Veronica. Elizabeth is deceased. The family is faithful members of the Catholic Church, and are among the first citizens of the township.
