Sister Agnes Cecile Schroeder, 76, Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Ind., died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1992 in the Sisters of St. Francis Infirmary, Oldenburg, Ind.
She was born March 15, 1916 in Greensburg, the daughter of John Frederick and Christine Elizabeth Trilling Schroeder. She entered the convent Sept. 8, 1934 and made her final vows July 2, 1940. A retired teacher, she had taught from kindergarten through the fifth grade in St. Bonaventure in Cincinnati, Ohio, St. Andrew in Richmond, Little Flower in Indianapolis, Holy Family at Oldenburg, St. Mark in Indianapolis, Oldenburg Elementary, Oldenburg Elementary, Oldenburg, and St. Michael, Indianapolis.
She also taught kindergarten and education classes at Marian College in Indianapolis and special education classes, at Holy Trinity in St. Louis, Mo., where she also tutored adults on a federally funded program. She taught at the Retirement Ministry at Ritter Convent, Indianapolis from 1986 to 1990 and assisted with pastoral care at St. Francis Hall in the Motherhouse in Oldenburg after retiring to the Motherhouse in 1990.
Survivors include her sister, Sister Marie Schroeder of the OSF, Oldenburg. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Joseph, Leonard, Edward and Philip Schroeder and three sisters, Teresa and Catherine Schroeder and Agnes Thoman.
The services will be officiated by Father Joseph Schaedel at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sisters of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel, Oldenburg, Ind.
Burial will be in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Motherhouse Chapel, Oldenburg, Ind.
