Roland A. Alexandre, 76 years old, of Sanford, ME died peacefully at his home on April 21, 2006.
Roland was born on August 10, 1929 in Sanford, ME. He was the son of Napoleon and Alice (Morneau) Alexandre. HE attended Sanford schools, and worked for the Local 4 Operating Engineers of Boston for over 43 years.
Roland was very fond of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and caring for the grounds around his home. He was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church, and will be sadly missed by many.
Predeceasing Roland is a sister Henrietta Lamirande; four brothers, Raymond, George, Joseph "Louie", Edgar, and a grandson Roy Alexandre Guild.
Surviving is his wife Shirley (Martineau) Alexandre of Sanford; three daughters, Elaine Guild and her husband Roger of Portland, CT, Louise Perreault and her husband Paul of Shapleigh, Rita Morrill and her husband Brian of Embden, ME; two sons, Patrick Alexandre of Warren, Daniel Alexandre of Lebanon; two step-daughters, Cassandra Levasseur, and Roxanne Litalien; five sisters, Adrienne Henry, Juliette Cote, Marie "Anita" Marceau, Sister Shirley Alexandre, Theresa Klingensmith; six brothers, Joseph "Pete", Henri, Ronald, Roger, Andre, Gerard; four grandchildren, Daniel Guild, Miranda Morrill, David Alexandre, Katie Perreault, and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
On Wednesday, April 26, 2006 an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Ignatius Church in Sanford. There will be no prior visitation. Committal services will follow Mass at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials be made to the Maine Endangered and Nongame Wildlife Fund, Maine Dept. of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, 284 State Street, 41 State House Station, Augusta, Maine 04333-0041.
