Eloyce Carlton, 75, rural Nebo, died Monday, June 28, 2007 at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield. She was born April 10, 1932 in Pleasant Hill to Clay and Minnie Crowder Hoaglin. She married Berdett D. Carlton Sept. 20, 1952 in Pittsfield and he preceded her in death March 19, 2001. She was employed by Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield as an LPN for many years and retired in 1997 from the Doctor's Hospital in Springfield as a surgical nurse. She was a 1950 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and attended the LPN program at Hannibal-LaGrange College. She enjoyed bowling and being a member of the Red Hat Society the Pleasant Hill Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant brother, Ronald; a brother, Louis Houchins; and a sister, Evelyn Sackett.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 21 at 2 pm at the Ward Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill with burial at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Visitation will be held Thursday from noon until 2 pm at the funeral home.
