After Elizabeth's death, Uriah Peters took William Jesse and returned to the home of his father, John Peters Jr. and mother Obedience "Biddie" (Murray) Peters (1870 census). Obedience was a sister of John M. Murray, the father of William Deaton Jackson Murray (who married Susan Anna Isbell) and John K. Murray (who married Lucinda Isbell), according to William D.J. Murray's descendant Carolyn Murray Greer, author of the "Remembering the Shoals" blog. Susan Anna Isbell Murray and Lucinda Isbell Murray were daughters of James Isbell and Elizabeth Birdwell who were among the first settlers of Alabama (Alabama Genealogical Society: First Families of Alabama).
Uriah Peters later remarried Amanda Hendren and had a number of children.
Uriah Peters was buried at the Peters Cove Cemetery (VALLEY LEAVES, Dec 1986, p.68).
Wiliam Levi Peters wrote a brief memoir in an old Red Chief tablet. He mentioned going to visit his uncle Jack or Zack Isbell one winter but that it was so cold, he caught a train and returned home.
W.L. Peters married Mary (Molly) Tipton, said to be a fullblood Cherokee "raised by Charlie and Tabitha Stephens." She died 31 July 1899 of measles, buried in Greenville, Tx. W.L. was a railroad man. He died 1 Jan. 1930 and is buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood, Louisiana.
