Alice Christine Borup was born on 21 December 1901 in Lindstrom, MN, the eldest of two daughters of William J. Borup (1875-1961) and Gertrude Alice Sybrant Borup (1880-1939). She was married to Archibald Henry Hakes (1900-1968) on 17 July 1924 in St. Louis County, MN. They had a daughter and two sons. Alice died from cancer on 19 November 1958 in Duluth, MN at the age of 56 and was interred at Sunrise Memorial Park.
