Gertrude Alice Sybrandt was born on 23 October 1880 to Samuel John Sybrant (1855-1932) and Alice (Dahl) Sybrant (1861-1932). She was married to William J. Borup (1875-1961) on 19 December 1900 in Chisago County, MN. They had two daughters, Alice (1901-1958) and Lois (1904-1949). They were later divorced. She then married the widower John Elof Alvin (1863-1935) on 20 November 1920 in Chisago County, MN. She was widowed in 1935. Gertrude died on 6 March 1939 in Duluth, MN at the age of 58, and was interred at Sunrise Memorial Park.

MRS. GERTRUDE ALVIN DIES IN HOSPITAL HERE
Mrs. Gertrude Alvin, 58, of 336 Gilead Street, died Monday night, March 6, 1939 in a Duluth hospital after a long illness. A former resident of North Branch, Minnesota, she had resided in Duluth for four years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Archibald H. Hakes, of Duluth, and Mrs. Gordon H. Hakes, of Montevideo, MN, and four grandchildren.
