Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Tucker Barnes, 81, of the Fairview community, died Saturday afternoon at the Lincoln County Hospital following a long illness. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Ralston Chapel with the Rev. W. C. Moorehead and Rev. Norman Coke officiating. Burial was in the Barnes Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes was a lifelong resident of the Fairview-Hughey community and was a member of the Beech Grove Methodist Church most of her life. Her parents were the late James and Adlia Tully Tucker. Her husband, Charles Barnes, died in 1952.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Amanda Jean, Fayetteville; two sons, Buford and John D. Barnes, both of Lincoln County. Three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
