married Charles F. Young March 20, 1901 in Bay City. After he died in 1905 she lived with son Roland and worked as a dressmaker in Bay City. Mary Jane married Robert August 23, 1910 in Hastings in Barry County. They moved to Bay City and had one son until he died in 1931. Mary in her later years was a dressmaker.

Martin Mrs. Mary Jane Martin, 85, 1834 Woodside Ave., died early this morning after an illness of four months. A lifelong resident of Bay City, she was born here May 7, 1878, and was married here to Robert Martin. He died Nov. 17, 1931. The former Mary Jane Johnston, she was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Roland Young, William and Robert Martin, all of Bay City; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Penzien and Vallender Funeral Home, the Rev. Marshall Hier officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery.
