Aaron Fletcher Litchfield was the son of David J. Litchfield and his wife, Emma J. Fletcher. He was married to Bessie Lillian Riggs on November 28, 1906 in Princess Anne County, Virginia (now city of Virginia Beach).
Bessie Lillian Riggs was born in about 1890 in Princess Anne County, Virginia. She was the daughter of William Henry Riggs and his wife, Mary Catherine Sasser. After Fletcher's death, she remarried to Charles F. Wilbern. She died on December 7, 1952.
Fletcher and Bessie had the following children:
1. Grace Estelle Litchfield, born September 5, 1907; married William Hugh McNeal; died June 22, 1994
2. Elliot D. Litchfield, born March 30, 1910, died July 27, 1911
