Norfolk Man Found Dead By Machine In Princess Anne County Yesterday
George Daniel Litchfield, aged 48, foundry worker, of Norfolk, was killed instantly last night about 6:30 o'clock when the automobile in which he was riding alone overturned near Pungo, in Princess Anne County, according to information received here last night.
The automobile was said to have turned over three times. Mr. Litchfield was dead when assistance reached the scene, it was reported. The cause of the accident was not known here.
Mr. Litchfield was a native of Princess Anne County, and had resided in Norfolk about 35 years. He was a son of Mrs. Emma Fletcher Litchfield and the late David J. Litchfield. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Forbes Litchfield, and a daughter Mrs. Virginia L. Murden, all of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. J.J. Ward, of Knotts Island, N.C.; two brothers, William J. Litchfield, of Princess Anne County, and David C. Litchfield, of Norfolk, and a grandchild. Mr. Litchfield resided with his family on Twenty-seventh street.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the funeral home of James V. Derry, 346 West Princess Anne road. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
