Viola Marie Rogers, 89, of Homer, died Oct. 26 at her home. Mrs. Rogers was born Oct. 22, 1903, at Homer, the daughter of William Henry and Flossie Robins Bear. She married John T. Rogers April 25, 1925, at Homer. He preceded her in death in 1969. Surviving are two sons, Harley and Jonnie Rogers, both of Homer, eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Bear of Homer; and three half sisters, Ruby Montgomery of Homer, Naomie Shaw of Champaign and Edith Taube of Mattoon. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Church of Christ at Homer. Graveside funeral services were held Oct. 28 at the GAR Cemetery, Homer. Rev. Charles Alt officiated.
