Mr. Oscar Hickerson, 52, of the Acton community, died at Rosary Hospital here at 5:45 p.m. last Saturday, following a long illness. Born in Green County Sept. 1, 1905, he was the son of the late Sherman Hickerson and Mrs. Mary Jane Grinston Hickerson. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Decie Sherell Hickerson, whom he married September 9, 1924; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Shanklin, Mrs. Eyvone Mardis, both of Crestwood; two sons, Edward Hickerson, Route 1, Campbellsville, and Hollin Hickerson, Crestwood. A son, Damond Hickerson, died March 28, 1951. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mattie Pierce, Elizabethtown; two brothers, Henry Hickerson, Dayton, Ohio, and Jessie Hickerson of North Carolina. Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and burial was in Brookside Cemetery. The Rev. D. L. Druien officiated with the assistance of the Rev. Gilbert Sapp.

The names of pallbearers for the funeral and burial of Oscar Hickerson, 52, who died Saturday, November 23, were not included in a story on his death last week due to lack of space. Regular pallbearers were: Ira England, Obey Rafferty, Malcum Mardis, Chester Benningfield, Roland McFall and Alvin Farmer. Honorary pallbearers were: J. B. Crawley, D. W. Crawley, Linie Bright, Tommie Richerson, Lloyd Mann, Ed Griffin, Robert Deener, Robert Stiles, Guy Davis and Carter Jarboe.
