Ezra Clifford, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Thackrey, was born in Appanoose County, Iowa, November 15, 1895, and departed this life at his home, near Numa, Iowa, January 1, 1929, age 33 years, one month and 20 days. On June 24, 1929, he was united in marriage to Miss Wilma Brown of Powersville, Missouri. To this union seven children were born: James Ezra, Harry, Robert, Orval, Marsella, Maxine and Polly.
He is survived by his wife and six children, James Ezra, having passed away at the age of four years. He is also survived by his father and mother and two sisters, Sarah Jane and Margarete, besides many relatives and friends.
Clifford united with the Methodist Episcopal Church when quite young. He again received his covenant with the Master during a revival meeting held in the M.E. Church at Numa, Iowa, in the 1921. He was especially kind and loving to his family, also of a generous disposition to everyone. He will be greatly missed by his immediate loved ones, and by all who knew him.
Funeral Services were conducted by a former pastor, Rev. Ostin, assisted by Rev. S. P. Trostle, present pastor, held at the Numa M.E. Church, Tuesday, January 8th at 2:00 o'clock p.m.
