On Monday evening, September 27, 1875, Lydia "Liddy" (Bower) Trew, aged 83 years, 2 months and 12 days passed away. "Liddy" was born, June 15, 1792, in Pennsylvania. She became a member of the Lutheran Church in early childhood, November 2, 1806. She died in the family home of Jacob Weiser, where she has been living for the past several years.

"Liddy" was the last survivor of a large family of octogenarians -- The father, Christopher Bauer (as the name was then written), moved into Perry County, PA, near the close of the last century, where the subject of this notice was born, June 15, 1792. She became a member of the Lutheran Church in early childhood, November 2, 1806. She died in the family of Mr. Jacob Weiser, where she has been living for over a year past, and her numerous relatives and friends are assured, that she was exceedingly well cared for in her last sickness, and during all the time she was there.

Her funeral took place on Wednesday at one o'clock, from the Lutheran Church, where a discourse was delivered by Rev. D.I. Foust, and her remains deposited in Oakland Cemetery.
