"Big Bob" developed blindness through the years due to cataracts.
Bob was a coal miner and worked many years in the coal mines without injury or an accident. He learned masonry from his father Bill Pap.
Top photo is him in his younger working years.
Photo not shown is picture of him sitting in his living room in his later years after he had gone blind and in his later years of life.
Middle photo is his double marker tombstone with his wife Martha Dora Jarrell.
Bottom photo is a picture of the two room log cabin where they raised their nine children. Some of the children slept in the loft of the house.
Today no one lives in the home and it has fallen in desrepair. I was told it is the second oldest house standing at Dry Creek, WV. It was built about 1899.
