Born on August 15, 1908 in the Fair Play Community of Panola County, she was the daughter of James Robert and Linnie Browning Harris. Mrs. Shivers was a graduate of Beckville High School and member of the Beckville United Methodist Church. In 1927 she married Mr. Clifton Hugh Shivers. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1974.
Mrs. Shivers is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Mary Shivers of Beckville; one brother, Mr. Sylvan Harris of Fair Play; one sister, Mrs. Teetsie Thelris Strong of Henderson; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Carol and Calvin Whiddon of Beckville; two great-grandsons, Chase and Cody Whiddon of Beckville.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Harris, Jimmy Gentry, Billy Black, Archie Williams, Thomas Adams and John Hudson.
James Oliver "Sonny" Harris served as an honorary pallbearer.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Beckville United Methodist Church.
