George Lang, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lang, was born Sept. 8th, 1878 at Cuba, Kans., and departed this life February 3rd, 1923 age 44 years, 5 months.

On June 1st, 1904 he was united in marriage to Miss Bessie Houdek and to this happy union were born a daughter Helen, and one son John.

The loved one leaves to mourn his departure a loving wife, daughter and son, and aged father, five brothers and two sister, a host of sorrowing relatives.

Here in this community he grew from childhood to manhood; here he and his devoted companion built this home and reared their beautiful children.

Throughout all of his life, George has been fine, strong, clean, and beloved and respected by all his family and friends and neighbors. In times of trouble he was ever ready with help and sympathy for those who needed help. May the bread he cast upon the waters be returned to those whom he has left, many fold.

The funeral services were held at the home conducted by the Masonic Lodge and the sermon taken from the Text: "The Lord is good a stronghold in the time of trouble and he knows them that take refuge in him." This sermon given by Rev. E. C. Rath of Agenda brought comfort to the heart broken family.
