James Cain Queener was born 28 May 1811 near Blountsville in Sullivan County TN. He was the son of John Queener and Betsey Lowry.
A newspaper article stated he served in the Indian War of 1835 for 14 months. [Indian War of 1936 in Alabama] age 25

He married Katie Boxer 8 Feb 1833 Roane Co, TN and had 1 known child, Sarah Queener b. 1838. What became of this marriage or Katie boxer is unknown to this writer, but a Sarah Queener married to Matthew Tolbert Arthur) showed up later in a Texas census living near James Queener and family.

James Cain Queener married Elizabeth Ann Trew on 3 Feb 1841 in McMinn Co, TN and had five children all born in McMinn County, TN:

James Cain Queener, Jr. b. 1844 d.1935 (in Randolph, TX)

Around 1875, he moved from Tennessee to Texas settling in Fannin County, near Randolph. He bought land and began farming.

From a newspaper article in the Bonham Farvorite, abt 1906:
"Mr. Queener says he has always been a man of temperate habits, has chewed tobacco nearly all his life, has taken a dram when he felt like it, but was never intoxicated. He has been an earnest member of the Methodist Church South for 70 years and is held in high esteem by all who know him."

James Cain Queener was 97 years old when he died 13 Aug 1908 in Randolph.
