Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Frances Smith Jerome, 83, will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Phillips Memorial Home.

Mrs. Jerome, 9 Spruce Street, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, November 30, 1970 in Massena Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient on two different occasions.

She was born October 30, 1887 in Louisville, the daughter of Ezra and Susan Gamble Smith. She attended Massena area schools and married Edgar Jerome in Louisville. Mr. and Mrs. Jerome resided in Chesterville, Ontario for several years. They returned to the area some 56 years ago. Mr. Jerome died in 1950. He had worked for Alcoa and the Village of Massena for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Clarence, formerly of Massena and now of Hemet, CA; Everett, 9 Spruce Street, with whom the mother resided; two daughters, Mrs. Imogene Murray, 7 Center Street; and Mrs. Daniel (Rita) Henry of Cook Street; also 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Two sons, Leo and Jeston, predeceased her.
