Tank Commander 6th Armored Division and was killed in combat Oct 20, 1944 in WWII, on the island of Leyte, Manila, Phillipines.
His wife Addie Mae Walton b. Columbia, SC stayed on in Dalhart after his death. She later remarried and moved to Bristol, VT.
