Tom Frederick grew up in Dalhart, TX. Everyone who knew Tom delighted in telling about his mischief. They stopped to reassure that he was neither cruel nor mean, just mischievous. "He once turned a snake loose in church". He "borrowed" a new Buick from his father's showroom and took a ride".

Tom went to Golden State Military Academy in CA for two years. He enlisted in the Army 1934. Stationed at Fort Warren Cheyenne, WY, Fort Logan Denver, CO. He attended Officer Candidate School in 1942 Fort Knox, KY. Tom served as 2nd Lt. Tank Commander 6th Armored Division and was killed in combat Oct 20, 1944 in WWII, on the island of Leyte, Manila, Phillipines.

His wife Addie Mae Walton b. Columbia, SC stayed on in Dalhart after his death. She later remarried and moved to Bristol, VT.
