He was wagon-boss on the LIT Ranch, Sheriff at Tascosa, TX 1900-1902. He helped Sam Killen survey Dalhart, TX townsight. He went into the coal draying business and later into the livery stable business. He was elected County Commissioner in 1913, initiated Highway 5, "Misery Trail" was conquered. He and J.N. Cole operated a service station and a Buick agency for 20 years.
