BALDWYN – Chestine Christian, 70, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a long illness. She was born Jan. 12, 1932, in Baldwyn. She lived in Beach Park, Ill., from 1951 until returning to Baldwyn with her husband, W.C., in 1981. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gayle Alexander and Bro. Johnny Hamblin officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Mike Christian and his wife, Janet, of Waukegan, Ill.; a daughter, Sandra Jackson of Baldwyn; three grandsons, Kris Jarchow and his wife, Lynn, of Baldwyn, and Tim and Josh Christian of Waukegan, Ill.; a granddaughter, Michelle Jackson of Baldwyn; two brothers, Tulon Peters and his wife, Katherine, and Orville Peters of Baldwyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Christian; her parents, Henry and Annie Peters; a sister, Eva Blassingame; and two great-grandchildren, Christian and Kristin Jarchow.

Her nephews and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
