Mrs. Charlotte Armatha (Kipe) Poole, 89 a resident of Ravenwood Village Nursing Home, Hagerstown, MD and formerly of Cherry Lane, Cascade, MD, passed away Monday morning at sunrise, January 28, 2013 in the nursing home.
Born August 17, 1923 in her family home on Cherry Lane, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Bertie (Harbaugh) Kipe.
Mrs. Charlotte Poole attended the Frederick School for the Death, Frederick, MD from 1938 until the spring of 1941.
She and her husband, the late Mr. Charles A. Poole, Jr. were married December 13, 1941 in Baltimore, MD. He passed away March 29, 2012.
Mrs. Poole worked in Waynesboro, PA during the World War II; after that she focused all her time on being a great homemaker and fantastic mother to her three children.
Mrs. Poole was a member of Germantown Church of God, Cascade, MD where she was a Sunday school teacher in the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She also was a member of Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Poole is survived by two sons, Charles A. "Charlie" Poole, III and his wife Linda of Warfordsburg, PA and Mark R. "Randy" Poole and his wife Gloria of Slidell, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Charles A. Poole, IV, Sandra (Poole) Sedmeyer, Shannan Poole, Bertie (Poole) Chinn, and Danielle Poole; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Bertie S. (Poole) Embly.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in Germantown Church of God, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade, MD with Pastor Mark A. Hosler officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade.
