Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - August 9, 2002. Obituary: George Alfred Ward, 87, passed away August 7, 2002 in Sandy, Utah. Born April 1, 1915 in Almo, Idaho to Asael and Alice Eames Ward. He married the love of his life, Violet Jardine, on June 7th 1939. They were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). George served his country in the United States Army during World War II in France. He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed gardening. George was loved by all who knew him and will be missed greatly.

Survived by his son Gregory A. Ward, Lehi, Utah; daughters-in-law, Alice Hulliger and Darylee Russell; brother Buddy; sisters, Rita, Ozella and Buryl; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife, Violet; sons, Terry and Randy; daughters, Laura Lee and Debbie. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2002 in the chapel at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd.) Friends may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday at Mountain View. We love you.
