"Henry “Hank” Kirchoff, 86, Carrington, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1993, in a Detroit Lakes, Minn., hospital and his wife, Marian Alice Kirchoff, 84, Carrington, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1993, in a Fargo hospital.
He was born May 31, 1907, in Canby, Minn., to Henry and Clara Kirchoff and was raised there. He worked in Lemmon, S.D.
She was born Nov. 18, 1909, in Bowdle, S.D., to Herbert and Alice Ham and was raised there.
They were married Jan. 8, 1929, in Mobridge, S.D. They lived in Lemmon, Ortonville, Minn., and Alexandria, Minn., while he worked for J.C. Penney Co. They moved to Carrington in 1946 and he worked for Gambles there. He began serving as registrar of deeds, clerk of court and judge for Foster County in Carrington in 1963. He retired in 1980.
Survivors: son, Gary, Denton, Texas; daughters, Janice Bitzer, Muskegon, Mich., Joan Engeberg, Detroit Lakes; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
His survivors: brothers, William, Lemmon, Leonard, Seattle; sisters, Lorraine Wade, San Jose, Calif., Del Rosa Helen Johnson, Pierre, S.D., Adrinne Barbara Anna “Bobbie” Gossman, Lemmon.
Her survivors: sister, Betty Lou Bradshaw, Idaho.
Combined funeral: Saturday at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carrington.
Burial: Carrington Cemetery.
Visitation and rosary: Visitation Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, with rosary recitation Friday at 7 p.m. in the church."
