Daughter of Hiram Griffin and Adaline Gardner; married Jesse Bynum Johnson 7 February 1907 in Aurora, Lawrence County, Missouri. Cause of death was a heart attack.

Note: Stone County Burial Index, Social Security Application, 1910 census, and Missouri Death Certificate all show year of birth as 1889 rather than 1890. Also, her marriage certificate shows she was 17 years of age in February 1907. Had she been born in 1890, she would have been 16 years of age. Furthermore, the next child born to this family was born April 16, 1891 which was only 11 months following the 1890 date shown on this gravestone. Although this is technically possible, it is quite improbable since there was only 13 months between the birth of the first child and the birth of Bessie Olive.

I might add that Bessie's father, Hiram (my grandfather), was a minister of the gospel involved in Evangelism; therefore, he was gone from home three weeks or more at a time holding a revival (as related to me by my mother, Bessie's sister). Thus, Bessie's mother would have had her hands full caring for two babies so nearly the same age.
