Mrs. Jacob Veit, 77, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Heiman, Charlestown, this morning following a brief illness.

Amelia Basler was born in Mequon, Milwaukee county in 1855, and was married to Jacob Veit at Mequon in September, 1878. The young couple lived there and at Cedar Grove for a few years following their marriage. They later settled at Manitowoc where they lived until 1885. They then purchased a farm in Chilton town and made their home there for many years. In 1914, they disposed of the farm to their son, Jake and moved to this city. Mr. Veit died two years ago and since that time Mrs. Veit made her home with her children.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Henry Heiman, Charlestown; two sons, Jacob of this city and Fred of Appleton, a brother, Frank Basler of New Holstein and two sisters.
