Custer Resident Dies at 63
Mr. Brooks Wass Ill for Five Years
James Edward Brooks, 63, died at his home in Custer Tuesday at 8 a.m. following a heart attack.
Mr. Brooks, a painter by trade, had been retired for the last five years because of a heart ailment.
He had been a resident of Custer since 1929, coming from Palermo, N. D.
He was born April 9, 1883, ay Ellis, KS., a son of Mr. and Mrs., Frank Brooks.
On Nov. 7, 1903, he was married to Bertina Dokken, who survives him.
Besides the widow, survivors are three sons, Jack M. Brooks, Joseph N. Brooks, and Willima B. Brooksof Sheridan, WY.; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Glemmer of Laurel, MT.; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Guptill pf priest River, ID.; 10 grandchildren.
The body is at Smith's Funeral Home.
