Betty Thomas Ezell, 81, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at her home. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Betty was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Red River County, daughter of the late Joe and Frances Knowles. A lifelong Texan, she spent her early years in Clarksville. She married Roy Thomas and after attending real estate school, she spent many years in the real estate industry. However, her main devotion was to her two sons, Dan and Roy Ed Thomas. While working as a Realtor, she met Col. Don Ezell and they married in 1975. They spent many happy years in Fort Worth and Mansfield. She enjoyed TCU football games and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her grandson, Ty Thomas; two brothers, Reo and Gordon Knowles; and two sisters, Dorothy Ingram and Juanita Westbrook. Survivors: Her two sons, Dan Thomas and wife, Cindy, Roy Thomas and Jeanine; dear friend, Jim McLeod; granddaughters, Casey Roby, Ericka Sammon; grandson, Ross Thomas; several great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Olga Villarreal.
