Bruce E. Caley, 88, Fort Wayne, died Sunday (Sept. 1, 2002) at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Caley was the owner of Caley Canvas and was a retired Air Force master sergeant, with 22 years of military service.
He was a past master of the Markle Masonic Lodge and a life member of American Legion Post 74.
He was born June 10, 1914, in Markle, to Frank and Mamie Gamble Caley. His marriage was Feb. 18, 1967, in Indiana, to the former Erma Spear. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry Caley, Egg Harbor, N.J.; and Alan Caley, Lanesville; a daughter, Connie Brown, Marietta, GA.; two stepsons, Jack Eagleson and Bruce Eagleson, both of Lagrange; a stepdaughter, Shirley Kneller, Columbia City; and 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Calling is from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. DuPont Rd., Fort Wayne, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Donald Kleinschmidt officiating.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by Air Force personnel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
Preferred memorials are to the American Legion.

Born in Markle, Indiana, Mr. Caley entered the Army at age 26,
serving during World War II, primarily with Headquarters Battery,
XXI Corps Artillery, participating in the Rhineland and Central
Europe Campaigns. He later served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring
as a Master Sergeant with 22 years service.

For his Army service he earned the European-African-Middle
Eastern Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Service Stars, the American
Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
