Florence, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, passed away January 19, 2013. She was born October 14, 1915 in North Ogden, Utah, a daughter of William Nathan Barker and Iva Bailey Barker. She married Lawrence A. Dastrup, June 11, 1947,in the Salt Lake Temple; he died May 30, 1991.

She lived all of her life in North Ogden and Ogden, graduating from Weber County High School and from Weber College with an associate degree in business. She worked for about 2 years as a bookkeeper at McClanhan's Clothing Store. Then she worked full time for about 10 years at the Continental Baking Company as an accounts receivable clerk. After her marriage, she worked on a part-time basis as the chief payroll clerk, retiring in 1981 after some 40 years with the Continental Baking Company.

She was a member of the LDS church in the Ogden Foothills Ward and in other various wards. She had many callings. She had served as Junior Sunday School teacher, Chorister and coordinator, as a mutual teacher, Primary President, Relief Society President, Ward Chorister, Relief Society Chorister, Ward Music Chairman, a Relief Society Teacher, and a Sunday School Chorister. In 1938 to 1940 she served a mission to the Central States Mission. After her mission, she served on the Sunday School Stake Board. She also spent four years at the Lorin Farr Family History Church Center doing Data Entry.

She belonged to the Literari Questers, a book club which she really enjoyed. At one time she also gave book reviews to many meetings and other organizations. She was a volunteer at the Weber County Library listening to children read. She also wrote and directed anniversary programs for the Relief Society in her ward for about 10 years. She belonged to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and a singles group.

She enjoyed the traveling she did with her husband and children every summer. Later she traveled to Europe when her son was stationed there. After the death of her husband, she took many tours to all of the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. She also visited the Panama Canal and Caribbean. Her last vacation was to San Diego at age 94.

She enjoyed reading, working in her yard. She crocheted afghans for all her children and grandchildren and one special niece and her children. She enjoyed going and doing things with her children and grandchildren. In later years she learned to play the piano and organ for her own enjoyment. Family and church were a big parts of her life.

She is survived by three children, Boyd (Karen) Dastrup, Annette ((Wayne) Hanni and Carol (Stan) McFadden; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren (with two on the way); a brother, Carl Barker of North Ogden; and a special niece, Patricia Neves and her children. She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ellen Monahan; a brother; Ray Barker and a son-in-law, Raymon L. Wilson.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 11 am at Aaron's Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden Utah, A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm and an hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment Ben Lomond Cemetery.
