Mrs. Dora Ella Black, 94, of 8625 Discovery Blvd., Walkersville, died Wednesday, July 14, at her residence.

She was the wife of Charles Lee Black, who died in 1958.

Born Feb. 7, 1899 in London, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Susan Johnson Bowling.

Mrs. Black was a member of Fredericktowne Baptist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Daisy Robinson of London, Ky,; Myrtle Vaughn of Hamilton, Ohio, and Mildred Howard of Falling Waters, W.Va.; two sons, Clarence Black of Baltimore and John R. Black of Pasadena; two sisters, Sarah Howard of Pasadena and Rose Vance of Westmont, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Black was preceded in death by two daughters, Emma jean Hobson in 1965 and Ruth Hobson in 1991, and a son, Daniel Black in 1935.

Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the Stauffer Funeral Home 1621 Opossumtown Pike,
Frederick. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 17, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Jeff C. Hudson officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick.
