Mrs. Ruth Hobson, 69, of 8625 Discovery Blvd., Walkersville, died Thursday, March 14, at her home.

She was the wife of the late Fritz Hobson.

Born Aug. 28, 1921, in Kentucky, she was a daughter of Dora Bowling Black of Walkersville and the late Charles Black.

She had been employed as an electronic assembler at Comsat Laboratories.

Mrs. Hobson had been a dedicated and active member of Fredericktown Baptist Church, Walkersville.

Surviving in addition to her mother, are one son, Carl Hobson, Baltimore; three daughters, Dora Beaslely of New Windsor, Sue Prettyman of Walkersville and Judy Martin of Frederick; two brothers, Clarence Black and John Black, both of Baltimore; three sisters, Daisy Robison of Kentucky, Myrtle Vaughn of Ohio, and Mildred Howard of Tennessee; and nine grandchildren.

Friends may all from 2-9 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where the family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Gary Byers will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
