Ripley, MS - Steadman Estes, 77, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Baptist East in Memphis. He was born May 25, 1935 to the late Robert Lee Estes and Bertie Elizabeth Shappley Estes. He was a member of Beech Hill Church of Christ. His working career included BF Goodrich and Texaco, Inc. He retired eight years ago from a thirty year career of building homes in Germantown. Eight years ago, after retiring he returned to his childhood home in Ripley. He enjoyed his many coffee drinking friends at McDonald's.

Service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 18, 2013 with Minister King McCarver officiating. Burial in Little Hope Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Beibers Estes of Ripley; three sons, Mark Estes (Jackie) of Memphis, Paul Keith Estes (Tammy) of Virginia, and Bobby Walker (Darlene) of Ripley; three daughters, Kathy LaBarreare (Tommy) of Falkner, Wanda Carr "Ricky" (Cotton) of Ripley, and Lisa Nelson (Ray) of Collierville, TN; four sisters, Mattie Byrd Hobson, Mary Scarth, both of Ripley, Pam Ditze and Jo Lee, both of Memphis; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Don Hobson, Harry Childers, Lee Smith, Homer Richardson, Wayne McGill and Jimmy Welch.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Kitty Amagliani, Jamie Whitby, and Dorothy Morrison; and four brothers, Hiram, Robert, Silas and Paul Estes.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel.
