John "Jack" Doonan – born about 1806 in Ireland. Birth place is reported in family documents to be Ballyshannon, Donegal, however, other family members appear to be from Fermanagh. He married Anne Flanagan in Ireland and they immigrated to Quebec about 1825 before the cholera epidemic in 1827. There were 10 children born of this marriage. Jack died 31 December 1861 in St. Sylvestre, Lotbiniere, Quebec, Canada.
2nd January 1862 the undersigned priest interred in the cemetery of this parish the body of John Doonan, spouse of Ann Flanigan. Witnesses Patrick Doonan and Patrick Corrigan.
