Scott was born April 30, 1924 in Delta, Utah to Scott and Nida Allen Taggart. He was a member of the LDS Church. Served a mission to the Swiss/Austrian Mission. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in Okinawa and the Phillippines.Scott had a long successful business career for more than 40 years in the Real Estate field. He was a Past President of the Utah Association of Realtors, and National Association of Home Builders. He became NAR Regional Vice President. He was awarded the National Sales Manager of the Year by the NAHB and was elected UARs Realtor of the Year in 1968. The real shining star in his service history is more than four decades as a volunteer in the American Heart Association. In 1978 he was selected for the Associations most prestigious award of merit, a Gold Heart Medallion.
Dad, "Thanks" for all you taught us!! You suffered many years without complaint and with such a great positive attitude.
Scott is survived by his five children: Robyn Rock (Jerry), Paul S. Taggart (Jane), Lane W. Taggart (Cathleen), Shannon Tolman (Jeff), and Mary Lee Warner (Wid). He was affectionately "Bumpa" to 22 grandchildren. Survived by his dear companion, Margaret C. Hart. Also survived by two sisters: Claire Morris Matthews of Salt Lake City, and Alice Taylor of Sacramento, California; also by his twin brother Thomas Allen Taggart of Sun City West, Arizona.
Memorial services will be held Saturday October 17, 1998, at 1 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends and family may call one hour prior to services.
