George L. Osterman - Aberdeen
The funeral for George L. Osterman, 80, of 820 N. Kline St., will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church chapel, 215 Fourth Ave. S.E. The Rev. Gerald Sevig will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Gates Funeral Home, 320 Sixth Ave. S.E.

Visitation will be today at the funeral home and at the church one hour prior the service on Friday. Relatives are requested to meet at the church at 12:30 p.m.

He died Monday, Dec. 14, 1987, at the veteran's hospital, Fargo, N.D.

George Lewis Osterman was born Sept. 11, 1907, at Lakefield, Minn., to Peter and Dena (Ludvigson) Osterman. In 1915 the family moved to Groton. In 1922 the family moved to Aberdeen. He attended Aberdeen public schools. He worked in the construction business for a number of years and then operated the Bell Liquor Store. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1940 until 1946. He married Domnakina Bell on May 18, 1952, in Aberdeen. She died in 1978.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, VFW, Elks and Senior Citizens.

Survivors include two brothers: Hans, Lake City, and Lyle, Rapid City; three sisters: Mrs. Signa Greer, Alhambra, Ill.; Mrs. Laura Smith, Aberdeen; and Mrs. Edwin (Dorothy) Bokelheide, Mansfield.

He was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers and one sister.

Casketbearers are Gary and Steven Bokelheide, Raymond Ford, Gerald, Todd, and Robert Osterman. Robert olson will be the soloist and Arliss Alberts will be the organist.
