Dannie D. Birt, 76, well known Guymon businessman, died at Memorial Hospital of Texas County early Tuesday morning, May 1, 1990.

The son of John and Viola Birt, he was born Aug. 16, 1913 at Arlington, Kan.

The Birt family moved to Guymon from Kansas in 1915. They homesteaded 14 miles north of town.

He married Eve Reed March 15, 1937 at Hugoton, Kans.

Mr. Birt had been self-employed since 1939. He owned and operated the Dandee Building Supply in Guymon for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary Birt and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife Eve of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Art (Glenda) Hatified of Guymon and Mrs. Tommy (Sharon) Jones of Texhoma; a daughter-in-law, Jan Birt of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are pending and will be announced by the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
