Augusta, Ga. - Entered into rest on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at University Hospital, Mrs. Johnnie Walden Anderson, 78, wife of Albert Vance Anderson, Sr. of Martin Road, Augusta.

Other survivors include her sons, Albert Vance Anderson, Jr., of Augusta and Gary Allen Anderson of Graniteville; daughters, Ann Anderson of Atlanta, and Patricia Wood of Gibson; brothers, Rev. Thurman Walden and Rev. Herman Walden both of Hephzibah, Ray Walden of Augusta, Macon Walden, Jr. of Louisville, and Bennie Walden of Edgehill; sisters, Ruth Searcy of New Castle, Ind., Frankie Lamb and Mary Huff both of Augusta; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Glascock County, to the late Macon and Lucy Swint Walden. She had retired as a cottage mother after 17 years from Gracewood School and Hospital. She was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m., in the Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Bentley and Rev. Robert Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Brandon and Clint Anderson, Tim Rockefeller Alvin Anderson, Lee Walters and Francis Corbett. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Southside Baptist Church and Brent Richards. Memorial donations may be made to the Southside Baptist Church, 3612 Mike Padgett Highway, Augusta, GA 30906
