Jean Margaret Atkins Aiken, 85, of Maryville, went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 6, 2013. Jean retired from Tennessee Department of Safety, Drivers License Division, Knoxville. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden. God and family were her top priorities in life, which gave her the greatest joy. Preceded in death by husband, Robert Lawrence Aiken; parents, Joe and Phoebe Atkins; brother, Alfred Atkins; and sisters, Gladys Wilson and Gertrude Lee. Survivors include son, David (Judy) Aiken; daughter, Jeanne Aiken Sexton; grandchildren, Rob Aiken, Mary Beth (Dylan) Fine, and Carrie Beth Sexton; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Sam Aiken and Matthew and Hannah Fine; several loved nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law, Gayle Aiken Turpin; dear lifelong friends, Elizabeth (Lib) Beaver and Nita Chittum; special caregiver, Gary Christian. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, Highland Memorial Cemetery, Knoxville, with Rev. Charles Turpin officiating.
