Lee, Gertrude Viola Atkins (Tseu), age 90, of Maryville, formerly of Madisonville, passed away suddenly, Saturday, April 23, 2011 into the arms of her loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As she always told her children, her initials "GAL" stood for "God's Amazing Love". As our Christian mother, she taught us that from love, through love, touches love and goes on and on forever. Born May 16, 1920 in Madisonville to the late Joe & Phoebe Torbett Atkins. A graduate of Monroe County Central High School in 1938. An accountant for Tate's Building Supply, Madisonville for 22 years. Retired from Blevins Paint & Decorating Center of Maryville, but to her, her greatest accomplishment was her children. A talented artist in hand designed china, Christmas dishes, ceramics, quilts and decoupage that she lovingly made for her children and friends. Member of the First Baptist Church of Madisonville for 90 years and was a member of the Hope Sunday School class. The old bell tower of the church was built by her father. Preceded in death by first husband, Robert Taylor Lee, Jr., sister, Gladys Wilson, brother, Alfred Atkins. Funeral 7 P.M. Friday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Curtis Woods officiating.
