Alfred P. Gallagher, 57, of 498 South Main Street, died unexpectedly at about 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon August 30, 1965.

Known as "Al the Barber", he conducted a shop at the rear of his home, but was not working Monday as the barbers shops were closed. He was stricken with a heart attack as he left the New York Telephone Building after paying a bill. He was taken to the hospital and was declared dead on arrival.

Surviving are his wife, the former Hilda Bell; one son, Peter Gallagher, Pasadena, MD; one step-daughter, Mrs. Maryland Smith, Massena; four grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers, all in the Rochester area.

He was born December 23, 1911 in Huron, near Rochester, a son of James and Bertha Heck Gallagher. He spent his early life in Huron.

He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, member of Massena Lodge 1110,, Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Massena Barbers Association.
