R. T. Bacon, who lived west of town, died suddenly Saturday of pneumonia. He was sick only about one week. The family have the sympathy of the entire community.

Ransom Thomas Bacon was born near Lawrenceville, Tiago County, Pennsylvania in January 1855 to Lyman Bacon and Mary Ann Deats. In 1870 he moved to a farm in the Grant vicinity. In 1878 he married Nora Patterson. They were parents of five children, Bert, Lena, Jennie (Mrs. Howard Hepler), Della, and Ethel (Mrs. Pat Neary). Mr. Bacon had three brothers, William. I. and Robert A. of Grant, and C. F. Bacon from Illinois. He died in 1917. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. J. Smith in the Methodist Church and interment was in Grant Cemetery with graveside Masonic services.
