He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He was a retired merchant and a postmaster at Fletcher, Jackson County. He served as a deputy sheriff in 1929 in Jackson County.
Surviving: wife, Alice; sons, Paul of Welcome, N.C., Donald of Villa Park, Ill., Neal of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Mrs. Doris Gandee of Kenna; brother, Thomas B. of Dunbar; sister, Mrs. Mae Hamon of Dunbar; 12 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Herman Gandee and the Rev. Vairl Winter officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery, Kentuck, Jackson County. Friends may call at the funeral home.
