Donald Skeen, 91, of Goldtown, passed away Tuesday morning, October 8, 2013 at CAMC-General following an extended illness.

He was born November 2, 1921 at Fletcher, son of the late Abendigo and Alice Cadle Skeen and the last surviving member of that family. He was an Army veteran of WW-II, arriving at Pearl Harbor shortly after the attack.

Donald retired as a machinist from medical equipment manufacturer Perkins-Elmer of Illinois. He was a member of the VFW, where he served as a former post commander, and the American Legion. He loved his family, liked working with his garden and flowers and, until illness prevented it, was very proficient on his computer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and partner of 55 years, Katheryn Miller Skeen and siblings Harry, Paul and Neil Skeen and Doris Poling.

Surviving: daughter, Ruth Ann Beck of Kenna; son, David Allen Skeen of Illinois.

A celebration of the life of Donald Skeen will be held at Waybright Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 1 p.m. with John Gunther officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Goshen Church Cemetery, Kentuck with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 107, Ripley.
