M.J. ANDERSON

M.J. Anderson, 74, of Nacognoches, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 1996 in Lufkin.
Mr. Anderson, the son of Mr. Charlie B Anderson and the late Mrs. Allie Bertrice Reed Anderson, was born December 12, 1921 in Winters.
He was a firefighter and fire marshal in the Texas City Fire Department. He was active in the Nacogdoches VFW Post No. 3893 and was post quartermaster for several years.
Mr. Anderson Is survived by his wife, Louise Maxine Wenger Anderson, of Nacogdoches; his son, Ronnie G. Anderson, of Rye; his daughter, Dathalyn D. Crain, of Nacogdoches; his brother, Bertis Anderson, of Texas City; his sisters, Adell Parkinson and Wanda Hare of Texas City; his stepmother, Mrs. Hattie Walters Anderson of Texas City; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Laird-McGill Funeral Home, 2116 South St., Nacogdoches. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery, with Brother Sonny Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow.
Donations may be made to the scholarship fund at Nacogdoches VFW Post No, 3893.
