Alta Evelyn Scott was born January 7, 1912 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Berniece Julia Toal and Frances Marion Daivs. She passed away August 3, 2000 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 26 days. Alta moved with her parents to Ford County, Texas and later to Oklahoma in a covered wagon in 1913. they lived in Elk City before moving to Meridian in 1914 and later to the Strong City community where she graduated from Strong City High School. She was married to Herman Dee Scott at Cheyenne, Oklahoma on July 8, 1928 and they lived in the Strong City community where they operated a Grade A Dairy. Alta and Herman moved to Cheyenne in 1961 to make their home. After moving to Cheyenne, Alta worked at the Cheyenne Drug Store until retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 sisters, Ida Mae Ezzell, Effie Lee Groves and Berniece Ashley. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Larry Bradshaw, Cheyenne, 1 son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Pat Scott, Strong City, 2 sisters, Frances Scott and Ruby Daw, both of Cheyenne, 1 brother, Weldon Davis and wife, Nelda, Strong City, 7 grandchildren, Mark Scott, Steve Scott, Kelly Ellson, Lynda Lucas, Michael Bradshaw, Christy Daboval, Kimberly Sander, 8 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Interment in the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma officiated by Terrell Romberg, under direction of Whinery Funeral Service Honorary Casket bearers were Bill Hanawalt, Charles Burns, J.D. Wesner, James Mogg, Johnny Cannon, Leland Burns. Casket Bearers were Buster Tidwell, Dale Tracy, Gerry Fults, Johnny Grant, A.F. Beaty, Eddie Tom Lakey.
